Cyborgs in the CyberEmpires

        - are imaginary and do not represent technology of any country or any company.  The following is fictional and must NOT be construed as current technology.

Technology in the realm of CyberEmpires has reached state-of-the-art level and especially in medicine and cybernetics.  Every part of man, except the brain, is now replaceable.  It has come to a point where humans are almost all machine.  Scientists are researching the possibility of storing every human thought in a machine that utilizes light or light waves.  Memory module sensors pick up the different light waves sent by fiber optic tubes from an upload or from environmental receptors.  Each band, or a combination of bands, is interpreted as a specific signal that is deposited on a memory module.  Sensors can detect minute changes in the waves and record them, then, deliver them to the CPU at the speed of light.  Perfection of this technology will mean movement from cyborgs to androids.

A person who has a terminal disease, or just dying of old age, will be able to transfer  his brain to an android.  Advanced biotechnology will able to prolong the life of the brain cells until such technology exists to completely copy the cells without drawbacks or side effects.

Eventually, a person will be able to transfer all his thoughts and memories.  His body may perish, but his image lives on.  This is non-biological cloning without the problems of biological complications.

An important scientist, for example, will able to transfer his knowledge and traits to his clone and live on as if he still exists.  He will continue his work for quite a while to further benefit mankind.

In the wrong hands, this technology could be disastrous.  Evil people could exist for a long time.

The person's body ailments and sickness are replaced by problems of maintaining the existing clone.  However, scientists are quickly finding solutions to obstacles in the android technology.

The android will be limited only by its design and materials.  It can be powerful, fast, and a quick thinker.  It will not have to eat, drink, sleep, exercise, etc.  However, scientists can create these features if necessary.  For private citizens, a company, for example, can provide these as options for an extra charge, so the android will be almost like the original.

Eventually, each and every citizen will become replaceable. When the last human is replaced, our legacy will continue through the eons, short of natural disasters, as long as our machine decendants continue to maintain themselves and to technologically advance.
