Statement on Man

The age of human technology has awakened to a new millennium. Advances in the fields of research extended man's visions far into the future.
Man has peered into the tiniest worlds and reached out to the heavens. He looked inside a virus and manipulated its genes, created clones of animals and saw the possibilities of cloning humans and extinct creatures. He has sent machines into the darkness of space bringing him closer to enlightenment.
He has walked on the moon and discovered there is no giant man staring down at us nor is it made of cheese. He has placed probes on the red planet and discovered some of its secrets only to be given a hunger for more knowledge. He has sent probes peering into deep space beyond our solar system and discovered great wonders. He has discovered Earth-like planets in distant solar systems and further pondered the possibility of the existence of intelligent life.
Yet, at an age when many things are possible, man's world is still plagued by violence, greed and power struggles. Perhaps his greatest challenge is not discovery of the unknown but bringing about worldwide coalition and cooperation to solve social and economical problems.
Man has come far beyond stones and caves. With the help of his space age technology, the solar system has become his domain. Planets and their satellites (moons) became sources of valuable knowledge and perhaps, one day, will be future homes for some. Perhaps great leaps in discoveries and inventions, and cooperation between nations, shall eventually lead to a better future for many civilizations.
The universe awaits us in our odyssey to reach the stars and galaxies. What new wonders we shall find in this new millennium(and beyond), and what future we shall shape, are limited only by our knowledge, wisdom, and synergetic determination.
